Los Angeles, California, December 1, 2022, Chainwire — Maincard is excited to announce its mainnet launch. The polygon-based, NFT-powered, Web3 sports prediction game went live on November 19, the day before the 2022 FIFA World Cup kicked off in Qatar.

Maincard features various new game dynamics, recreating the Web3 game space. To ensure the app was ready for launch, the project has been running various testnets since mid-September, where more than 14,000 users from 125 countries have played Maincard. Early project backers have already received Maincard NFTs – required to play the game – according to the help they contributed during the development process.

Maincard enables users to earn cryptocurrency for correctly predicting the results of sports matches. To play the game, users must have a main card NFT.

There are two game modes: Battle and Calls. In match mode, players use their main card NFT to vote on the outcome of matches for various sports. Guessing correctly earns MainCoins, which are currently only an in-game currency. However, several exchanges plan to list MainCoins in Q1 2023.

The number of MainCoins received for correct predictions depends on the rarity of the Maincard NFT used for voting. Every week there are also crypto prizes for the top three players who earn the most MainCoins. First place gets 3000 MATIC, second place gets 2000 MATIC and third place wins 1000 MATIC.

Making bad predictions cost Maincard NFTs their lives. This may reduce the number of MainCoins received for making correct calls, but users can recover lives by repairing their NFTs.

In conversation mode, players face each other. The mode has far more risk because your opponent takes your main card NFT if you guess wrong and they guess right.

The ability to merge main cards to create more powerful NFTs adds even more variety to gameplay. Making consecutive correct predictions increases a card’s winning streak. When the streak reaches a certain threshold, players can combine two main cards of the same type to produce a new higher level card. Alternatively, players can purchase more powerful motherboards on the application’s built-in marketplace.

Currently, Maincard supports a limited number of sports, including football, basketball and League of Legends. However, the project plans to add more sports every week.
