Animoca Brands leads one championship to NFT Gaming –

Singapore-based MMA entity, One championshiphas entered into cooperation with Animoca brands subsidiary, Notre Game, to develop mixed martial arts mobile games with NFTs. Called One Fight Arena, the mobile strategy fighting game will enable fans to engage with the sport via the digital realm.

The game is set to debut in early 2024, with testing planned for later this year by a select group of players. According to sources, the characters will be backed by NFTs, making it easy for players to verify their authenticity and track their history. That said, the game is set to be released as a free-to-play title that allows any interested person to enjoy it without the requirement to engage with NFTs.

Following the announcement, One Championship founder and group president Hua Fung Teh could not contain his excitement. In a statement he notes, “We are thrilled to partner with an industry leader in Animoca Brands to launch One Fight Arena, our first Web3-enhanced video game.”

NFTs will offer players real ownership

One game is expected to feature the brand’s roster of premium fighters, with the main focus on “strategic gaming” via a first-person point of view, while simulating each fighter’s experience from the very beginning of their career.

Yat Siu, Executive Chairman of Animoca Brands, feels that this partnership gives mobile game fans an opportunity to experience true digital ownership. In a statement, he notes, “Our partnership with One to create One Fight Arena will enable fans of the world’s largest martial arts organization to access a new gaming experience with true digital ownership at its core.”

The partnership comes as Asia positions itself to become the leading light for Web3 gaming. A recent report from DappRadar indicates that the continent is positioned to dominate the emerging Web3 gaming market.
