Deutsche Telekom announces integration with Polygon Blockchain, becomes one of the top 100 validators
Deutsche Telekom, one of the world’s leading integrated telecommunications companies, has announced its integration with Polygon Blockchain. This strategic partnership marks Deutsche Telekom’s entry into the world of blockchain technology, positioning it as one of the top 100 validators on the Polygon PoS network.
Deutsche Telekom becomes a validator on the polygon network
As a leading global telecommunications company, Deutsche Telekom has expanded its blockchain technology endeavors by becoming a validator on Polygon, a top-level Ethereum Layer-2 scaling platform. This move means that Deutsche Telekom supports the network’s ecosystem.
Deutsche Telekom’s subsidiary, Deutsche Telekom MMS, has expanded its validation nodes to include Polygon, following its previous engagements with Q, Flow, Celo, Chainlink and Ethereum. The subsidiary now offers staking and validation services for Polygon’s Proof-of-Stake (PoS) network and Supernets solutions. In particular, Deutsche Telekom MMS is among the exclusive group of 100 validators on the Polygon network (PoS).
Dirk Röder, head of the Blockchain Solutions Center at Deutsche Telekom, said: “The Polygon ecosystem is very developer-friendly and resource-efficient. It is based on the highest security standards of the Ethereum ecosystem.”
He added, “The collaboration with Polygon is an important step for Deutsche Telekom MMS to fully exploit the potential of blockchain technology and enable applications suitable for mass distribution. Deutsche Telekom MMS also supports Polygon staking, contributing to the security and decentralization of the blockchain. “
Michael Blank, Chief Operating Officer at Polygon Labs, commented: “We are delighted to have Deutsche Telekom, one of the world’s leading telecommunications providers, become a validator on the Polygon network. This collaboration will pave the way for more enterprises to embrace blockchain technology through Polygon and empower consumers by unlocking the ownership and autonomy that Web3 technology offers.”
Validators: The cornerstone of blockchain operation
Validators play a critical role in the Polygon blockchain ecosystem. They are responsible for verifying and validating new transactions and blocks on the network. Validators ensure the accuracy and security of the network, making them an integral part of the blockchain’s decentralized nature.
Polygon Labs, the team behind Polygon’s development and expansion, has created an evolving ecosystem that gives developers easy access to a variety of scaling solutions. These include zero-knowledge digests, page chains, app-specific chains, and data availability protocols.
As a validator, Deutsche Telekom MMS plays a crucial role in strengthening the security, governance and decentralization of Polygon’s PoS sidechain and Supernet’s app chains. This is achieved by operating a full node, generating blocks, validating and participating in consensus, and committing checkpoints on the Ethereum mainnet.
Currently, Polygon’s PoS chain is home to tens of thousands of decentralized applications, processing over three million transactions daily and securing $1.2 billion in Total Value Locked.
Polygon Supernets empower developers to quickly and smoothly construct high-performance, customizable app chains, giving them the flexibility to focus on business strategies and user engagement. These supergrids enable projects to set their own parameters for throughput, gas currency, gas limit requirements and much more.
Both of these solutions work together with the Ethereum blockchain, ensuring fast, cost-effective and secure transaction processing. Any modifications are then mirrored on the Ethereum mainnet.
By supporting Polygon, Deutsche Telekom is contributing to a smoother, more efficient blockchain network that can revolutionize how we transact on the blockchain. Deutsche Telekom’s integration with Polygon is a significant step forward for both entities. For Deutsche Telekom, it represents a bold move into the blockchain space, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and technological progress.
On the other hand, Deutsche Telekom’s support as a validator strengthens Polygon’s network, increasing its security and reliability. This partnership also brings more visibility to Polygon, potentially attracting more users and developers to the platform.
