Aptos (APT) Soars 32%, Bitcoin Remains Flat on Low Trading Volume (Weekend Watch)

Aptos (APT) Soars 32%, Bitcoin Remains Flat on Low Trading Volume (Weekend Watch)

Bitcoin continues to trade without any significant movement in either direction on low trading volume, similar to previous weekends.

Most altcoins are sitting idle as well, with ETC and APT being among the few exceptions, making significant gains.

Bitcoin Stalls at $19K

The last seven days were significantly less volatile than last week, with BTC going from $19,000 to $18,200 and up to $20,000 in the 24 hours after the latest US CPI numbers came out.

However, the asset failed to break the coveted $20,000 line and returned back to a familiar sight of $19,000. It spent the last weekend there as well as Monday. It tried to rally on Tuesday with a price jump to $19,600, but was stopped in its tracks again.

The scenario repeated itself on Thursday. This rejection drove BTC hard south and the asset fell to a 9-day low of $18,600. It bounced off fairly quickly and returned to $19,000 as the weekend approached.

The low trading volumes have expectedly led to another uneventful trading day, with the cryptocurrency sitting still at just over $19,000. The market value is still at 367 billion dollars, while the dominance over all is inches away from 40%.

APT steals the show

The landscape of most altcoins is similar to that of BTC, meaning there are few very significant price movements.

Almost all altcoins with larger capitalization are with smaller gains. These include Ethereum, Binance Coin, Ripple, Cardano, Solana, Dogecoin, Polkadot, MATIC, Tron and Avalanche. Shiba Inu is sitting with a small loss.

Ethereum Classic stands out as the best performer from the larger companies. It is up 6.5% in a day and is trading above $23.

Aptos, on the other hand, has skyrocketed by 32% daily. As a result, the initial cryptocurrency of the newly launched blockchain network has approached $10.

However, these gains have not pushed the crypto market cap upwards, as its value remains around $920 billion.
