Warner Records joins Bose to offer Free-To-Mint NFTs

Warner Bros.’s British music division, Warner Records, has teamed up with audio equipment company Bose to join the Web3 site to create a new NFT project called Stickmen Toys. The collection will include 5,000 audiovisual tokens, which will include real-life tools such as access to live events, characters, exclusive streetwear and priority locations for future Warner Records developments.

Warner Records has chosen a free-to-mint strategy in hopes of building a community of “loyalty and trust” that benefits both the project and its proprietors. All secondary sales will contribute to the support artist’s income.

Using music technology built by London-based agency Capsule, The Stickmen Toys NFTs use an algorithmic randomizer that transforms sound into unique characters. Each NFT will include its own 30-second soundtrack produced by The Stickmen Project.

“Toys play a big role in everyone’s lives, so we decided to bring them into the Web3 playground where creations are limited only by imagination,” said Capsule founder Joey Tadir.

Warner Records will be the first major record label to grant IP rights to owners, allowing creative and commercial freedom through copyright. The project also aims to give owners a voice in the vote on community rules, new tools and long-term goals.

Warner Records Vice President of Audience and Strategy Seb Simone said: “We are proud to be the first major record label to provide collectors with authentic and meaningful ownership of the underlying audiovisual copyright, free of charge for collectors.”

Simone believes that NFTs present “a powerful expansion of the artist-to-fan relationship, which gives people the opportunity to invest in an artist’s future success and gives them value along the way.” This project’s synergy between major brands in the music industry means the new ways collectors can interact with creators virtually and physically through the possibilities of NFT and Web3 technology.
