  • MEW (MyEtherWallet) has announced the launch of its cross-chain browser extension, Encryptbuilt with support from Web3 Foundation, which will support transactions across the Ethereum and Polkadot (DOT) ecosystems. At launch, Enkrypt will provide cross-chain access with the Polkadot ecosystem through integrations with parachains Acala and Moonbeam, along with all their accompanying network canaries. More parachains and Ethereum virtual machine (EVM) compatible chains will be added in the coming weeks, with ongoing support for native tokens, the team said.

Mining news

  • Riot Blockchain said it produced BTC 318 in July, down about 28% compared to July 2021. As energy demand in ERCOT (The Electric Reliability Council of Texas) hit all-time highs last month, the company said it voluntarily reduced energy consumption to ensure more power would be available in Texas.

  • Trading app Robin Hood CEO Vlad Tenev said the company is reducing its workforce by approximately 23%. Employees from all functions will be affected, while the changes are particularly concentrated in the operations, marketing and program management functions, he said.
  • Crypto service provider BitGo announced the promotion of Chen Fang to Chief Operating Officer and the appointment of Victor Tsou to Vice President of Engineering.
