Upcoming drops: 10-16 April

Let’s face it: the NFT space is moving very quickly. Considering how quickly things can change in the metaverse, a week in NFT might as well be a month IRL.

Don’t get us wrong – the more people on board the space, the better. But with the constant influx of great art and ideas, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with all the news, launches, and general happenings.

Well, you can put the days of endless Twitter and Discord scrolling behind you as we compile a weekly list of upcoming NFT drops you definitely don’t want to miss. Here’s what to look for this week.

Knights of Degen Present Degenesis: Volume 1

What: Open edition mint/burn

Why: In collaboration with Web3 startup Alexandria Labs, Knights of Degen will publish a textbook in four chapters. The first chapter will be an open edition, with each subsequent chapter becoming more and more difficult to collect. One of each chapter will be required for users to burn to complete a complete set.

Why: Fresh off the completion of his Across the Face and Room for Everyone collections, prominent Nigerian artiste Osinachi is set to return to Nifty Gateway for another limited edition release. Entitled The Backwingers, the collection focuses on those “on the fringes of society who have more strength and more determination than the best of us.”

Why: Blondish have partnered with Evolution Music and Deep Grooves to produce the world’s first biodegradable vinyl made using bacterial plastic replication. To introduce the project, Blondish will drop the intro track to “Life Is…” #Plastic Free Party album via Sound.xyz.

WHO: Animoca brands and Meta Hollywood

What: Membership NFTs

When: April 12 @ Time TBA via Meta Hollywood Twitter

Where: Club3 members

Why: Animoca Brands has partnered with Meta Hollywood (Planet Hollywood Web3 venture) to start a private IRL members club in Los Angeles. The club, which will be available to members only via four unique types of token acquisition memberships, will serve as the physical meeting place for the larger Web3 community. It will open in the second half of 2023.

What: 9000 Free NFTs

When: 12 April at 4 p.m. ET

Why: Pixelynx, the music metaverse/gaming company founded by Deadmau5 and Richie Hawtin — which was recently acquired by Animoca brands — is set to open early access to its flagship Web3 game Elynxir via a limited NFT collection called The Droplet. Each of the 9,000 free droplet NFTs will feature collectible music from nine artists at the forefront of Web3 music and will give holders early access to the Elynxir platform.

Let us dance

WHO: Gala music x Larry Dvoskin

Why: In honor of David Bowie’s 40th anniversary Let us dance album and with the support of the Bowie Estate, Gala Music has partnered with musician, songwriter and producer Larry Dvoskin to release a limited run of David Bowie-inspired digital collectibles. The drop will give fans access to a never-before-heard version of Bowie’s iconic hit, Let us dancewith all initial proceeds donated to MusiCares.
