Trigometric unveils the world’s first numismatic NFT trading platform

The largest collectibles auctioneer in Malaysia, Trigometric, unveils the world’s first and largest numismatic NFT trading platform, NumisArt.

Trigometric announced NumisArt in Kuala Lumpur at the 9th International Numismatic Fair. This initiative aims to double the company’s presence in the fast-growing international numismatic market.

Mhojhos Research estimated that the worldwide coin collecting business generated approximately US$17.59 billion in revenue annually in 2020. As a result, Trigometric has a very favorable forecast for the numismatic auction and trading market.

The world’s largest third-party banknote grading agency, Paper Money Guaranty (PMG), has graded over 500,000 Malaysian banknotes, placing Malaysia in third place worldwide, behind China and the United States.

Numismatics such as coins and notes may likely disappear in the future due to technological improvements. They may even succumb to the test of time like most antiques and works of art.

NumisArt was founded with the intention of modernizing its infrastructure and delivery, allowing collectors to overcome the limitations of traditional collecting and trading by minting their collectibles in NFTs “to preserve them with increased value and generate a stable source of income.”

The customer will receive the banknote itself together with the purchase of the virtual numismatic NFT on NumisArt. The platform guarantees that the objects traded on the platform have real value by connecting physical notes to NFT.

As each note that PMG grades is a source of trust and credibility among buyers and sellers, historical currencies exchanged on NumisArt must be assessed by PMG to reduce the potential for counterfeiting.

The Nissan Estate emergency notes, which were incredibly rare and were printed during World War II but only circulated for five months in the Tawau district of British North Borneo, were minted into NFTs through the NumisArt platform since it began operating.

One of the most expensive numismatic NFTs on NumisArt is the $25 note that PMG graded and certified in 2021. It is currently valued at RM1.2 million.

The original creators’ names will always be listed and they will continue to receive 5% of the revenue from any transactions going forward. They can continue to earn money indefinitely and pass it on to future generations even when they no longer have the actual note.

Trigometric is actively promoting NumisArt to collectors outside of Malaysia, and the next move will be to attend the upcoming Singapore International Coin Fair 2022, which will take place from September 16 to September 18 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Singapore.
