Top 8 Indian NFT Artists in the scene right now

Collectors and traders spent $22 billion on NFTs last year, and the market is still growing. In India, creators are exploring the opportunities that come with establishing their own NFTs. But here it becomes more than a new monetization tool and gives fans more personal access.

Despite the growing recognition in art spaces, it can still be challenging to find artists in this field. We did some digging and found some of the best artists in the Indian NFT scene to keep on your radar!

Bhat is known for his distinctive artistic capture of faces. His viral GIFs have been published on several well-known platforms. His partner’s timely suggestion led him to explore creative domains ranging from graphic design to stage/booth design for several premium Indian companies, which ultimately led to the development of Graphicurry – an independent artist business shop and design studio located in Bangalore.

In 2021, Chakraborty presented an NFT collection of eight women she met while traveling – at an Embers exhibition. She told Analytics India magazine about the first-of-its-kind exhibition she curated in collaboration with WazirX’s platform. The curators added an AR layer to showcase the paintings. According to Chakraborty, the NFT community is evolving and there is still a long way to go.

The NFT artist stirred the digital space in 2021 with his Caged NFT collection at OpenSea. The series is inspired by Hassan’s fascination with glass snow globes. The dreamy effect of snow globes once touched was a source of inspiration for the collection, with hints of nature, bold skull motifs and the state of mind.

15-year-old digital artist, Laya Mathikshara from Chennai Public School, has successfully sold $1 million worth of NFTs. One of her artworks titled “What if the Moon had life?” listed a reserve price of 0.384400 ETH inspired by the distance between the moon and the earth (3,84,400 km). The artwork was sold for 0.39 ETH (₹90,500) on the Foundation platform.

The Indian NFT space’s toy maker creates digital toys inspired by nostalgia and a sense of youthful excitement. He is busy making toy faces and 3D dioramas. In July 2021, he sold his digital “toy face” of artist Frida Kahlo for 3.9 Ethereum (ETH) (approximately Rs. 6,63,651. Pal’s profession revolves around his 3D illustration, art direction and visual artwork.
