The world of art is changing rapidly, and the rise of NFTs is changing the way we perceive and experience art. Shavonne Wong’s latest exhibition, “The Ties That Bind,” is an excellent example of this transformation. The exhibition is filled with interactive dynamic NFTs that are not only aesthetically beautiful, but also conceptually strong and innovative.

…This whole project came from wanting to do a solo exhibition, deciding not to wait for a gallery to offer it to me and planning one on my own. these were the works I made for it!

An artist who believes in using technology to take art concepts to the next level, Wong has partnered with Transient Labs to bring her dreams to life. Each piece in the exhibition provides a unique experience that is sure to appeal to everyone. Let’s take a closer look at some of the standout pieces in the exhibition.

The weight of the world

“The Weight of the World” is Wong’s first timed edition, created especially for her solo exhibition in collaboration with Transient Labs. The piece changes according to the number of pieces sold, making it a truly unique experience. The piece is a comment on the weight of responsibility that we all carry, and as more people buy the piece, the weight gets heavier, and the visuals change accordingly.

The duality of ETH

“The Duality of ETH” is another innovative piece in the exhibit that dynamically shifts based on the traffic on the Ethereum blockchain. Wong personifies the blockchain, exploring its personality and characteristics. As the blockchain becomes busier, the visuals of the piece become more chaotic, representing the complexity and interconnectedness of the blockchain.

The invisible march of time

“The Invisible March of Time” is a project that explores the passage of time and the inevitability of change. The artwork is unique because it is directly linked to Wong as an artist – it will age with her. The visuals change based on Wong’s age, making it a deeply personal and intimate piece.

Beyond the Surface

“Beyond the Surface” is Wong’s first artwork that not only has a physical component, but also includes an AR function and is a dynamic NFT. The piece allows viewers to interact with the work through the device it is viewed on, creating a truly immersive experience.

In suspension

One of Wong’s personal favorites from the exhibit is “In Suspension.” The piece changes based on how long a viewer has been watching it on their device, making it a more somber and introspective piece. As viewers engage with the artwork, the speed of light changes dynamically based on how long they spend with it.

Each piece in “The Ties That Bind” is a unique and innovative work of art that you won’t find anywhere else. Wong’s labor of love is evident in every aspect of the exhibit, from concept to execution. The rise of NFTs has enabled artists like Wong to push the boundaries of traditional art and create truly immersive and interactive experiences for their audiences. “The Ties That Bind” is a must-see for anyone interested in the future of art and technology.
