The TDeFi pavilion at GITEX Global 2022 was the epicenter of blockchain innovation

GITEX GLOBAL (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) is one of the largest and highly influential technology conferences to happen since 1981. GITEX 2022 was a five-day event (October 10-14) at the Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE. It was attended by 4,000 exhibitors, 1,000 speakers, 1,200 companies and public agencies with 280 hours of events on stage. TDeFi, a leading crypto incubator and advisory firm, was a key participant at GITEX Dubai 2022.

TDeFi set up its own pavilion at GITEX from 10 to 13 October, showcasing its incubated projects and hosting enlightening talk shows. The TDeFi pavilion at GITEX brought together blockchain industry experts, technical innovators, entrepreneurs and crypto enthusiasts from around the world. For four days, the TDeFi pavilion became a site for extensive collaboration of technical know-how, networking and exhibition of cutting-edge technologies. TDeFi hosted investors from its network at the TDeFI Investor Lounge. More than 500 venture capitalists (VCs) and institutional and angel investors had exclusive access to the TDeFi-hosted Investor Lounge. The TDeFi Pavilion was a meeting place for blockchain first-movers, technology experts and decision-makers, to share ideas on the latest developments in the blockchain cryptocurrency industry.

An overview of events at the TDeFi pavilion

One of the major events at the GITEX 2022 TDeFi Pavilion was thought-provoking conversation sessions. They included keynotes, panel discussions, startup pitches, roundtables, Fireside Chat sessions and TradeDog award presentations. In each session, the speakers talked about different blockchain topics. The speakers were project founders, managing directors and COOs of other participating companies, investment analysts, media correspondents and strategy managers.

A popular topic of discussion was the impact, adoption and future of the metaverse and NFTs. For example, Fireside Chat on ‘Mapping Metaverse and Gamify for the Next 365 Days’, between Gaurav Dubey, CEO of TDeFi, and Yat Siu, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Animoca Brands, was revelatory. Yat spoke of his strong belief in NFTs as the cornerstone of digital property rights to create entire digital economies.

Yat emphasized how Web3 will decentralize and fairly distribute ownership, with blockchain gaming and education leading the movement. He talked about NFT-based ownership of digital assets becoming the next big thing as players want to onboard millions of users in the coming years. Yat projected that the metaverse would become an all-encompassing economy for educators, content creators, and gamers, benefiting from NFT-based capital generation.

The experts also discussed the challenges of venture capitalists, recruitment procedures in the Web3 ecosystem and the path towards mass crypto adoption. They were followed by discussions about the decentralization movement, and the relationship between crypto and media and sports. As the host nation, a few sessions focused specifically on the growth of crypto usage and blockchain investment in the UAE.

Some sessions delved deep into the regulatory framework and compliance standards for crypto platforms. The experts also talked about smart contract security, creative economy, Web3 Play-to-Earn games and the possibility of the next crypto bull run. In addition, TDeFi hosted BizThon 2.0, a hackathon where the finalists presented their business ideas in front of judges for long-term support.

MetAmazonia: MetAmazonia is a photorealistic 3D metaverse that uses NFT technology to own virtual Amazon land, and fund ecotourism, reduce carbon footprints, and more.
CR Square: CR Square provides accounting solutions for Web3 startups, and provides a secure platform for investor funds through smart contract-driven Escrow Pools.
MYTH: MYTH offers users a diverse selection of RPGs, building communities, creating NFTs, collecting them and getting rewards.
Beliefs: Faith Tribe is an open source fashion design platform where creators have ultimate control over their designs, creating phygital collections.
EQ8 Network: EQ8-Network offers decentralized identity creation, decentralized form creation, credit score reputation oracles and recovery systems.
Palm Swap: Palmswap is a perpetual trading platform powered by the PALM token, with an all-time volume of $133 million.
Megaverse: Megaverse is a hyper-realistic, multi-purpose platform for gamers, companies and public entities where users can play, work, shop and more.
