Gao succeeds former lecturer, SEC chairman Gary Genslerfor the second year

SAN FRANCISCO, 31 March 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Founder of Shima Capital Yida Gao goes back to his MIT roots, this time to begin his second year as assistant professor at the prestigious institution Massachusetts Institute of Technologywhere he teaches 15,492 Crypto Finance. Mr. Gao took over the task in 2022 when he replaced the previous lecturer, Gary Genslerwho moved into his new role as chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

In his first year as a lecturer at MIT, Yida Gao was known to invite special guests to join and speak to his class. Such guests included Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterinchairman of Animoca Brands Yat Siu, investor and entrepreneur Anthony Pompliano aka Pomp, and Celsius founder Alex Mashinskyamong others.
