sCrypts Xiaohui Liu talks about Bitcoin smart contracts, Satoshi and BSV on Friendly Bear Research podcast

After attending the BSV Global Blockchain Convention in May, David Capablanca had a chance to meet some of the key figures in the industry. This week, he decided to resume contact with Script’s Xiaohui Liu to dive deeper into BSV for the benefit of the public.

We introduce Xiaohui Liu

After speaking with John ‘Jack’ Pitts on his podcast several months ago, Capablanca decided to attend the BSV Global Blockchain Convention in Dubai this year. He begins by saying how impressed he was with the convention and how much he enjoyed Liu’s presentation.

Liu describes his story and how he studied a Ph.D. in computer science before working for Facebook as a researcher. He became interested in blockchain technology after his friend started mining various digital currencies. He explains that he immediately became curious about how calculation could generate value in the form of digital coins. He started running many experiments, and eventually led him to quit his position at Facebook and dive into blockchain full time.

Liu explains that in those early days, most of the experiments failed because of the technical limitations of the blockchains he ran them on. However, all this was about to change when a fateful invitation to a conference in Hong Kong led him to Bitcoin SV.

How did Liu meet Dr. Craig Wright?

Liu explains that, after a period of running various experiments related to blockchain technology, he accepted an invitation from a friend to attend a conference in Hong Kong. While there, Dr. Craig Wright gave a presentation, and Liu was immediately impressed. He says that Dr. Wright comes across very differently personally and that was when he began to understand how negative and misleading the media can be.

Liu says that after his meeting with Dr. Wright, he “went down the rabbit hole”. He discovered the original Bitcoin and Dr. Wright’s many papers and patents. To him, they are definitive proof that Dr. Wright is the inventor of Bitcoins.

“Either he’s Satoshi Nakamoto, or he knows more about Bitcoin than anyone else out there,” Liu said.

Capablanca nods consciously and explains how the media in its own financial trading industry can be extremely misleading. It often lies by omission and will almost always spin things in a certain way.

Liu agrees, and goes deeper into why he believes Dr. Wright’s claims to have invented Bitcoin. While some in the industry demand that he sign publicly with Nakamoto’s private keys, Liu is more convinced by his “proof of knowledge”. To explain what he means by this, he asks Capablanca to imagine someone claiming to be a person he knows, such as an old friend, and what he would think if that person then continued to answer endless questions about it. the person, shared memories, etc., exactly. For Liu, that’s what Dr. Wright has done about Bitcoin – he has answered endless questions exactly, and all the other so-called experts have answered them incorrectly. The probability that this is accidental is small to none for him.

At Lius online classes with Dr. Wright and BSV’s abilities

Liu runs regular online courses on Bitcoin SV development, and Capablanca asks him to explain more about them.

He replies that they are a way for him to translate what Dr. Wright wants to express into a more “developer-friendly” language. In his collaboration with Dr. Wright, he has found that because his knowledge base is so broad, ordinary people have a difficult job understanding what he is saying. Liu takes these concepts at a high level and breaks them down so that developers can understand them. The classes are in all respects related to BSV development, for example smart contracts using sCrypt.

Through these lessons and other research on BSV, Liu has learned that everything that can be done on other blockchains can be done on Bitcoin SV better and cheaper. He wonders why the 30,000+ other blockchains even exist.

Capablanca adds that when he thinks about it, that the stock exchanges would remove and ignore BSV is very sensible. He compares them to stockbrokers and traders who take fees from trading. If BSV is as skilled as Liu and other experts say, and if it kills the other blockchains, then they lose out on all the fees associated with trading the coins associated with them.

By delving deeper into BSV’s capabilities, Liu explains that claiming that Bitcoin is only for payments is tantamount to saying that iPhones are only for phone calls. He says that even now, while people are waking up to the power of BSV for micropayments, the programming possibilities are still underestimated and underexplored. He explains how sCrypt is very similar to Javascript and other high-level languages, allowing developers to create advanced applications on Bitcoin. He reminds viewers that he is not just claiming this – he has proven it and everything works today.

Liu’s latest projects and where people can learn more

Capablanca asks Liu what projects he is currently working on and where his viewers can learn more about Bitcoin SV. He replies that consuming the publicly available material at BSV is a good start. He recommends BitcoinSV.com and CoinGeek and reminds viewers to look past negative headlines and do their own research.

Liu gives viewers food for thought, asking them to consider why stock exchanges like Coinbase (NASDAQ: COIN) and Binance have listed almost all of the top 100 digital currencies by market value except BSV? He reminds them that it is the antithesis of “crypto”, focusing on real utility instead of pumping coins for short-term gains, and that just as we have seen reality catch up with the industry in recent months, there is much more to come.
