Nothing Black Dot NFT

TL; DR

  • Nothing has advertised an NFT giveaway.
  • The company will also open for sale to the public on the OpenSea NFT marketplace.
  • Fans and followers of the company are not so happy with the move.

It is not long since Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) were considered hot stuff. Fast forward to the present times, and the digital resources have used up their 15 minutes of fame. As the value of NFTs plummets, Carl Pei-backed Nothing has decided to jump on the bandwagon with its Black Dot NFTs.

If you are someone who has not bought into the NFT hype, you are not alone. Most of Notting’s followers, fans and enthusiasts waiting for Phone 1 are not so happy with the direction the company is taking. After the startup announced its new NFT gift, comments have poured in on the company’s social media handles with confused and negative reactions.

This is not Community Dots.

We are all nothing. Dots in the enormously unlikely layout of everything. But let these seemingly small, insignificant dots connect. Then something begins.

Essentially, Nothing’s NFT is a video clip of a rotating cube with a black dot. Oh! And it also makes a sound. If you’re interested in that kind of thing and are a Nothing Community Investor, you can get this NFT for free and supposedly redeem it for things like early access to products or events. When the NFTs are released on July 7, the company will also open for sale to the public on the OpenSea NFT marketplace. But why? – Is a question the fans ask.

Comments on Nothing’s announcement show that someone is immediately expelled from the entire scheme.

“Just give chargers inside the box instead,” he wrote a Twitter user. Another so“Okay … as soon as I saw NFT, my interest dropped.”

More such comments follow Nothing’s Twitter announcement thread.

“People do not want this because it is not related to the phone at all. Please provide something related to the phone, ” so a trailer.

“I’m disappointed. It would have been better to just sell that cube than an NFT,” he read another comment.

Some also question Nothing’s carbon footprint. NFT sales can consume a lot of energy, and Nothing has branded itself as a sustainable brand until now. These two things create a clash in people’s minds.

“The company goes out of its way to show that it’s environmentally friendly, and then starts doing NFTs,” notes a Twitter user.

Som pr Decrypt, Polygon is the blockchain Nothing uses for its NFT. To make a point about the waste of NFTs, one user pointed out the platform’s annual energy consumption according to its own website.
