Nansen enables messaging between crypto wallets with the app

On-chain analytics firm Nansen launched an expanded version of its Web3 app, Connect, to anyone with a crypto wallet. The new version of the Web3 app follows a tight beta phase launched in June 2022, according to a press release shared with Bitcoinist.

In crypto, investors can gain an advantage over other participants by engaging in communities. The latter is particularly true of the decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible token (NFT) sectors, where early adopters are often rewarded. Connect was created to facilitate this process.

Nansen provides several use cases for crypto wallets

The new version of the Nansen Web App is available for MetaMask, WalletConnect and Coinbase Wallet. Users can install the app and access exclusive NFT communities, send private messages to other crypto wallets, and access insights and Nansen data.

Connect will also allow users to set up alerts and connect to hardware wallets, including popular brands like Ledger and Trezor. Communication with the Web3 app will be protected by end-to-end encryption. Laveen Manghnani, Product Manager at Connect, said the following about the Web3 app and its potential to allow users to build communities and create new social connections across the nascent space:

As the Web3 ecosystem experiences increased growth, it is imperative that users, communities, and projects can connect, socialize, build, and discover alpha together on a secure, crypto-native platform. This is where Connect comes in, offering users a way to start and join conversations using blockchain data – where each wallet is an identity, and each token is a community.

The Web3 app represents a significant milestone for Nansen and a new tool for the Web3 and NFT communities. The analytics platform on the chain is shifting to a “social hub” with a more significant focus on local communities. Manghanani added:

Ultimately, we see this app as a compass to help users navigate the boundaries of Web3 – a world where rules and social norms are still being established.

No more projects dumping on retail

In addition to providing access to exclusive communities, users can see which community members are truly invested in a project. In that sense, Connect is a tool to make the NFT area more transparent and developers more responsible.

The Web3 app allows users to set up alerts, as mentioned, if a developer “dumps” or sells their tokens in the market. This feature can help people avoid scams or shady projects with unclear token economy.

According to the press release, Connect will allow users and communities to:

(…) to better filter noise within their own ranks, as it will be easier than ever to recognize and recognize the holders of the highest convictions – an information overlay that will fundamentally change how group chats work.
