MetaVersusWorld: Building Metaverse for IP in Web3 Panel at Istanbul Blockchain Week 2022

Istanbul hosted the first official edition of Istanbul Blockchain Week, 14-17 November 2022, as the capital of the Middle East’s largest cryptocurrency market in 2021 (with exchange volume increasing by 1,500% year-on-year, according to Chainalysis). This was one of the most anticipated conventions in the Middle East, attracting top names in DeFi, Metaverse and Gaming.

MetaversusWorld, a Web3 technology and gaming company founded in 2021 that builds hyper-realistic virtual worlds and experiences in the Metaverse for brands and their consumers, announced its participation, along with GN3RA and FullStack Ventures, in a panel discussing Building the Metaverse for IP in Web3 .

Bringing the IP debate to Istanbul Blockchain Week

The panel saw participation from Lili Eva Bartha, founder and CEO of GN3RA, the world’s first Web3 creator metaverse that will enable global audiences to take charge of their virtual self-expression through creating, customizing, wearing and sharing digital outfits, and Tamlyn Rudolph, Co-Founder and General Partner, Fullstack Ventures, a metaverse and Web3 theme fund. Roxana Nasoi, interim CMO of MetaVersusWorld and co-founder of W3SP, moderated the panel.

“IP owners will experience a natural extension of traditional registered marks and ownership to the Web3, via games, virtual worlds and digitally native economies, in a decade that will thrive on automation, intelligence, autonomy and transparency. In the face of the speed that as digital technology evolves and enters our daily lives, Web3 will remain a viable option for ‘growing together’, rather than just a first-mover advantage, which until recently was the key for tokenized products.” said Roxana Nasoi, interim CMO of MetaVersusWorld and co-founder of W3SP.

The intersection of identity, the creative wave and technological advancements were thoroughly covered during the IP debate at IBW 2022, as well as what Web3, NFTs and circular economies have to offer creatives and more.

Lili Eva Bartha, founder and CEO at GN3RA, added: “Users of Metaverse platforms are eager to be more than just participants in experiences, they want to contribute, collaborate and co-create. There is an exponential acceleration in creation and distribution of user-generated content (UGC), which promotes user-driven creative economies. In order for creative economies to thrive, it is important to support the emergence of platforms designed to lower the barrier to entry for users who wish to create their own virtual content. I encourage developers of these platforms to embrace a mindset of being ‘enablers’, facilitators of these tendencies.”

What does the Metaverse you deserve look like for companies, people who consume digital content, develop things and invest in ventures? – a question that should be able to have more than one solution to it, and that should make us all think about the future.

“An immersive metaverse allows for a creative overhaul of the traditional roles held by creators, curators and fans. As lines blur and agency is shared between communities and even digital agents (AI), we need to rethink what IP is, and how ownership and profits are shared accordingly.” Tamlyn Rudolph of Fullstack Ventures.

The conference was held on November 14 in Istanbul under the NFT Day track.
