The founder and CEO of the Radnor-based digital banking company BM Technologies has been named Fintech Nexus 2023 Executive of the Year. Luvleen Sidhu was chosen from among five finalists for the award, which was presented on 10 May.

The award is presented to a senior executive who has demonstrated “outstanding leadership, integrity, performance and team building within their company while contributing to the advancement of the industry,” according to the Fintech Nexus website. This year’s leader for one of 10 categories of the Fintech Nexus awards, which recognize leading “fintech influencers and innovators,” according to a press release about the award.

The other nominees for the award included: Zach Perret, CEO and co-founder of Plaid; Chris Britt, Founder and CEO of Chime; Rania Succar, CEO of Intuit Mailchimp; and Jennifer Tescher, founder and CEO of the Financial Health Network.

“The finalists in this category represent admired leadership from an inspiring group of companies, and it is a privilege to be among them,” Sidhu said in a statement. She added that 2023 has been “decisive” for BM Technologies.

“We kicked off 2023 with a new banking partnership with First Carolina Bank (FCB) for our higher education business, a two-year renewal of our existing and largest BaaS partnership, and a new deposit servicing agreement with Customers Bank for our existing and largest BaaS partnership,” she said . In October 2022, the company announced a partnership with Helix to provide embedded banking solutions for consumer brands.

Under Sidhu’s leadership, BM Technologies went public in January 2021 through a merger with Megalith Financial Acquisition Corp.
