Khabib Nurmagomedov NFT: Fans criticize ex-UFC star for turning to crypto business

UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov has lately been feeling the heat from not only the critics but even his ardent fans after the latest announcement of his venture into the world of NFTs and cryptocurrencies. Despite staying away from any controversies and scandals outside the cage, the former lightweight champion’s decision to be part of the NFT deal has definitely left many of his followers in dismay. More so, after the recent post on his social media handle, which promised his fans a chance to meet him after the purchase of his NFT.

Continuing the marketing of the NFT collection, NurmagomedovThe official Instagram profile made a new post asking his fans to become part of his private community. And unsurprisingly, this was once again met with fierce criticism from his fans.

The NFT collection, as noted by the Russian’s Instagram post, helped its holders mine bitcoin and bring in profits, while also giving his fans the opportunity to meet the former lightweight champion. It further mentioned that owners of NFTs were allowed to fight for bitcoins as part of a game.

Another surprising addition to NFT was that it had certain aspects of Nurmagomedovhis MMA career as a crucial part of the plan. As mentioned, it gave holders a unique chance to multiply their rewards by 29; “The Eagles’ number of wins in his undefeated career.

Despite the 34-year-old’s efforts to promote this product, his fans have clearly seemed to be against this deal. And this was quite clear in the comments section as well.

Fans react to Nurmagomedov’s latest NFT post on Instagram

The amount of criticism the Russian was subjected to was quite overwhelming. Many of his fans called for him to walk away from the deal, while others pointed out how crypto and NFTs were a bad idea.

Many of the fans asked him to just stop the promotion.

“Please don’t.”

“This isn’t it.”

“Not a good look boss.”

A fan wondered if someone hacked his account.

“Has he been hacked?”

Another hurled some serious criticism at Nurmagomedovcalling him a sellout.

“Sell out. The last person you’d expect.”

Surprisingly, an ardent fan was quite eager to buy NFT but considered it too expensive.

“Love you and all. Would love to buy and be a part of it. But $2000 each is too much. I think there should be different tier prices for different tokens. Not a flat prohibitive price.”

A majority of fans also asked him to stop the scam, even asking him not to throw away his morals.

“Brothers who enjoy their lives a little too much, he forgot to train.”

“The UFC money is already over?”

“Brother don’t throw away your morals.”

“Khabib, please stop this NFT and Crypto grift man. Fooling your fanbase is not a good look, no matter what the fat suits around you say.”

Unfortunately for the legend, this deal hasn’t worked out well, at least from a fan’s perspective. Considering that the crypto world is not seen as too trustworthy, it is not surprising that fans of the UFC legend feel disappointed by his venture.
