Global Fintech Fest 2022 draws international Fintech Doyens

MUMBAI, India, 26 September 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Global Fintech Fest 2022 (GFF) — India’s biggest fintech conference – held here between 20-22 September, brought on one platform global fintech experts and enthusiasts. Inauguration of GFF 2022, Indian Finance Minister Smt. Day 1 of GFF 2022 started with a session on “Creating A Sustainable Financial World” addressed by Kris GopalakrishnanChairman, GFF 2022 Advisory Board, Chairman, Axilor Ventures and Co-Founder, Infosys, Naveen Surya, Chairman, Fintech Convergence Council, Srinivas JainED & Head of Strategy, SBI Mutual Fund and Smita Aggarwal, Global Investment Advisor, Flourish Ventures. Addressing the delegates at GFF 2022, Shri Shaktikanta Das, Governor, Reserve Bank of India, marked the theme of his talk as ‘Fintech as a Force Multiplier’. “Technology, innovation and fintech work together and contribute to the dynamism of the sector. Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Chairman, Ms. Madhabi Puri Buch laid down some core principles guiding regulators, while delivering her keynote address at the Global Fintech Fest 2022 (GFF 2022) in Mumbai Today. “There are some key principles that guide a regulator. These include anonymity, transparency, financial inclusion and structural vulnerability,” she said.

Among the other key speakers on day 2 of GFF 2022 were Amitabh ChaudhryManaging Director and Managing Director, Axis Bank, Dr. Saurabh Gargexecutive director, Unique Identification Authority for India (UIDAI) and Dilip AsbeMD & CEO, National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

On September 22India’s Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics and Information Technology Shri Ashwini Vaishnawemphasized in his honorary speech the need for social inclusion in India’s digital progress. In that regard, he outlined the government’s plans to bring high-speed data connectivity to every village in the country. “Telecom is the very foundation of Digital India and the Hon’ble Prime Minister has given us a clear mandate to revise our digital regulatory framework so that it is globally benchmarked and supports global competitiveness. We are currently looking at 3-4 pieces of legislation which cumulatively include the new the Telecom Bill, the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill and the IT Act of 2000 to create an interactive framework where the concerns of the industry are addressed by the government and the concerns of the government are duly taken into account by the industry. Technological navigation needs to be modulated. so that the interests of the end users are safeguarded, said the minister.

Among the other key speakers who spoke on day 3 of GFF 2022 were Shri Jayant SinhaMember of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance, Shri Injeti Srinivaschairman, IFSCA, and Shri Rajesh Bansalmanaging director, Reserve Bank Innovation Hub.

Global Fintech Fest is organized and presented by the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of IndiaReserve Bank of IndiaInternational Financial Services Centers Authority (IFSCA), National Payments Council of Indiapayment council i India (PCI) and the Fintech Convergence Council (FCC).
