FinTech North is partnering with the UK’s Department for Business and Trade when the North America Roadshow visits Leeds

Fbringing together the fintech community in the Northern Powerhouse, inTech North is partnering with the UK’s Department for Business and Trade (DBT) to host a ‘Fintech Opportunities in the US Market’ session as part of the touring North America Roadshow 12 UK cities and visit Leeds on Tuesday 7th March.

The speakers take place at The Met Hotel in Leeds from 14:00 to 16:00 and speakers will include Julian Wells, Director of FinTech North and Whitecap Consulting, and Joe Roche, Head of Engagement at FinTech North, as well as Rytas Stankunas, Senior Trade Officer at the UK Government’s DBT in New York who supports fintech businesses from the UK which lands in North America. They will discuss opportunities for UK fintechs operating in the areas of payments and financial transactions, banking, investments, insurance and cryptocurrency in the US market.

Zandra Moore, CEO of Leeds-based software business Panintelligence, will also talk about experiences from the company’s US market entry over the past four years and how it is progressing across the Atlantic with the Amazon AWS platform.

UK fintechs will also be able to find out more about market opportunities in the US insurance sector via the new transatlantic Insurtech Corridor initiative which opens doors into the US insurance and risk markets via Hartford, Connecticut. As well as time to network with speakers, guests and founders from the UK and USA.

In addition to the fintech and insurance session, DBT’s Leeds program will include presentations on export opportunities in the North American energy sector, and on financing the expansion of technology companies in North America. Plenary meetings will offer updates on the economic outlook for Canada and the United States and on trade negotiations. A range of experts will join DBT in breakout sessions to provide key information and guidance to inform UK businesses’ export journey to North America.
