The global crypto market fell 1.90 percent on Friday morning after a rise yesterday. The market was dragged down by losses in Bitcoin, Ethereum and other altcoins

The global crypto market retreated on Friday the 24th. February 2023, after achieving gains yesterday. The market was weighed down by losses made by Bitcoin (BTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Ethereum (ETH) and other altcoins.

The market stood at $1.09 trillion, down 1.90 percent from the previous day, at 11 am IST on Friday, according to coinmarket.com. Total crypto market volume rose 8.46 percent to $56.08 billion in the last 24 hours.

The most popular crypto was STEPN (GMT), but the biggest gainer for the day was Optimism (OP), up 7.73 percent to $3.00. The biggest loser was Neo (NEO), down 9.42 percent to $12.31.

Cryptocurrency prices

Bitcoin: BTC fell 1.92 percent to $23,929.41. A deep fall in BTC’s price was recorded at 16:55 IST on 23 February 2023 when the price fell from $24,257 to $23,760.

In the last 24 hours, trading volume was down 1.43 percent to $28.6 billion. BTC’s dominance is 42.2 percent.

Ethereum: ETH’s price fell by 1.20 percent to $1,645.95. A 30-minute drop in price from $1,666 to $1,635 sent Ethereum into the red at 16:50 IST on Thursday, after trading in the green for quite some time. Since then, ETH has not recovered.

Prices fell further with Ethereum hitting its all-time low of $1,632.57. ETH’s trading volume decreased by 9.08 percent to $8.3 billion.

Other Altcoins

Solana (SOL) decreased by 2.77 percent to 23.81 dollars.

Ripple’s (XRP) price fell 2.33 percent to $0.388 in 24-hour trading, with trading volume down 19.84 percent.

Cardano (ADA) was down 3.09 percent at $0.3799. After a drop of 19.67 percent, the 24-hour trading volume reached $287 million.

Binance (BNB) fell 1.32 percent to $309.40. Its 24-hour trading volume was down 9.63 percent to $458.9 million.

Meme Coins

Dogecoin fell 2.13 percent to $0.08427, and 24-hour trading volume fell 56.85 percent.

Shiba Inu was down 3.88 percent to $0.00001304.

Decentralized Finance (DeFi)

Yearn.Finance (YFI) rose 2.97 percent, and 24-hour trading volume rose 5.03 percent.

Avalanche (AVAX) fell 5.30 percent to $19.58, and its 24-hour trading volume fell 43.22 percent.

Aave (AAVE) traded down 2.32 percent to $85.12.
