Crypto Casinos Are ‘Impossible To Rig Because The Game Is Hosted On A Blockchain’ – Online Casino Reviewer – Interview Bitcoin News

According to an igaming expert, Keane Ecclestone, cryptocasinos are becoming increasingly popular among players who value their privacy and security. While some perceive cryptocasinos as riskier than traditional online gambling platforms, Ecclestone believes players can play safe by choosing casinos that use their licensing information. Bettors can also minimize their risk by choosing crypto casinos that have more positive reviews, Ecclestone added.

Cryptocasinos vs traditional online gambling sites

Cryptocasinos, just like many other services or innovative products that came to life thanks to the growing use of cryptocurrencies, have seen the number of people using them grow. There are several reasons why players flock to online gambling sites, and many of these reasons have to do with the shortcomings of traditional casinos.

Despite having clear advantages, cryptocasinos have their shortcomings that potentially increase the risk for users. The perception that online cryptocasinos are more risky is reinforced by the fact that many of them are not regulated, or operate in jurisdictions where such rules do not exist.

To overcome some of these shortcomings, Keane Ecclestone, an igaming and crypto copywriter, recently co-founded an online platform, Casinos Cryptos, which ranks crypto casinos based on factors such as their licensing information. According to Ecclestone, by offering this service, his platform is playing its part in helping users avoid scam casinos.

In addition to explaining to Bitcoin.com News how his organization evaluates cryptocasinos, Ecclestone also gave his thoughts on this new industry and what needs to be done to improve user security. Below are Ecclestone’s responses to questions sent to him via Linkedin.

Bitcoin.com News (BCN): Cryptocasinos seem to be increasing in popularity. In your view, what could be the factors behind this?

Keane Ecclestone (KE): We believe the main reasons behind its growing popularity are three-fold – privacy, security and growing interest in the crypto market. Players prefer to have greater anonymity, along with a large number of people owning crypto – thus increasing demand.

BCN: However, despite their rise in popularity, cryptocasinos are seen or perceived as riskier than other online casinos. Do you agree that cryptocasinos are more risky?

KE: Not necessarily, as long as players are careful about the casinos they use – cryptocurrency deposits/withdrawals can actually be safer as you’re not entering your card details on a (potentially) malicious traditional casino site.

BCN: What made you decide to start a platform that reviews cryptogambling sites and what kind of impact do you expect this to have on this industry?

KE: Linking back to the previous question, there are definitely some casino sites players should steer clear of. We made it our mission with the review platform to provide customers with objective, detailed information about each crypto casino, so they can be confident and find the best site for their personal needs.

BCN: Based on your experience, what would you say are the signs or characteristics of a good or legitimate cryptocasino?

KE: A legitimate cryptocasino usually provides licensing information (usually Curacao or Malta) and has many positive reviews. Another way to be sure is longevity – if it’s been around for a while, it’s probably legit. Or players can visit casinoscrypto.com where we have done the hard work for them.

BCN: Anonymous gambling is one of the reasons cryptocasinos are growing in popularity. What do you think are the benefits as well as the risks that come with this type of non-KYC gambling?

KE: Some will see providing personal information as a violation of privacy and will have the right to be able to gamble on products they choose, when they choose, from a place they choose. Of course this brings greater risk from a compliance point of view, but many of the casinos have implemented systems to detect suspicious behavior and only KYC those they believe are of malicious intent.

BCN: Now let’s talk about regulation. As you may be aware, many gambling sites are regulated and the reason is often to protect players from certain practices. For example, some casinos are known to use dishonest techniques such as distributing a rigged roulette. If a regulated casino operator engaged in this practice is caught, their license will be revoked. Now, since cryptocasinos are largely unregulated, if an operator were to cheat, what happens to this operator? Is there a body or organization where players can report this?

KE: Great question. One of the many benefits of blockchain is that many of these cryptocasinos are provably fair – meaning it would be impossible to rig since the game is hosted on a blockchain for all to see. Admittedly, these are not all sites, but the majority implement fair practices or use large game providers, so in our opinion the risk is minimal, and therefore the need for regulators is less than for traditional online casinos.

BCN: The industry is growing, but there is still room for improvement. In your view, what else needs to be done to ensure cryptocasinos are safer?

KE: There is always room for improvement. To ensure greater security, I would recommend cryptocasinos to offer secure cold storage for players’ crypto, as well as allow instant demand-side withdrawals like most crypto exchanges. This helps players know they are always in control of their money.
