BFC paymentsBFC Payments, the FinTech arm of BFC Group Holdings WLL, has partnered with M2P Fintech, an API infrastructure company, to launch an advanced multicurrency card, BFC PAY TRAVEL BUDDY which offers international travelers great convenience as it allows for quick top-ups, instant currency conversion, worldwide shopping, dining and much more. The technology stack for issuing the card is powered by M2P Fintech together with Visa Platinum as a network partner.

With the increase in business and leisure travel post-pandemic, a safe and seamless digital payment instrument such as a prepaid multi-currency card becomes essential for the traveller. A significant benefit of the BFC Pay Travel Buddy card is the ability to instantly load BHD and transfer to five different currencies in your wallet at attractive exchange rates. The exchange rate lock function allows the exchange rate (FX) to be secured when you convert the currency. The BFC Pay Travel Buddy Card leverages the best of M2P’s ‘Cards Suite’ to provide consumers with instant, secure and seamless payment options.

“For Travel Buddy, we wanted to offer our customers a superior digital experience. Everything is done instantly through the BFC Pay mobile app, whether you apply for the card, load the money or buy FX. We want customers to travel cashless and provide them with the most cost-effective solution for all their international expenses, whether it’s booking tickets online or shopping while travelling”, said Davis Parakal, Managing Director, BFC Payments.

Talking about the collaboration, Vaanathi Mohanakrishnan, Business Head, MENA, M2P Fintech said: “We are delighted to partner with BFC Payments to offer the multi-currency travel card. Enabling over 30 million payment instruments in Asia, M2P’s Cards Suites has innovation at its heart. The versatility of prepaid travel cards is just another illustration of M2P’s capability to develop tailor-made solutions to meet the various demands of consumers and maximize customer satisfaction.”
