Ava Labs CEO and Kyle Roche Respond to Allegations of Crypto Leaks

Ava Labs CEO Emin Gün Sirer and Kyle Roche of law firm Roche Freedman responded with a detailed statement on the Crypto Leaks scandal. While Roche stated that they were “illegally obtained, highly edited video clips”, Gün stated that these claims were “categorically false”.

Cryptoleaks’ allegations against Emin Gün Sirer and his company have been refuted.

According to the article, both companies have an insider agreement to help each other, with Ava Labs parting with some of its tokens as payment. Gün responded by saying, “no, Roche does not have anywhere near 1% of the tokens. That is also an obvious lie from the article.”

Emin Gün Sirer’s Ava Labs was accused of paying Roche Freedman to stage lawsuits against competitors and distract US regulators, but he dismissed the claims as “conspiracy theory nonsense”.

In connection with this, he claimed in his detailed statement that Ava Labs does not “receive any material or information from him [Roche]and we do not leave our legal matters to him,” and that all lawsuits are filed independently.

He clarified that Kyle Roche is not a member of their management team and has no say in their business or legal decisions regarding the Avalanche Protocol.

“Roche is not responsible for regulatory affairs for Ava Labs. We independently have good relationships with the regulatory community, policy makers and with law enforcement. We hold ourselves to high standards and believe they recognize that.”

Kyle Roche issued his own statement on the matter, claiming that the videos in the Crypto Leaks article were recorded without his permission.

Roche stated that these were recorded during private meetings with Christen Ager-Hanssen, “who I now know works for Dominic Williams, the creator of the ICP Token and a defendant in a high-profile securities fraud lawsuit my firm brought against him.”

Kyle Roche also argued that the video’s statements were obtained through deception, “including a deliberate scheme to intoxicate”, by asking leading questions.

He allegedly met with Ager-Hanssen for venture capital investment in a technology startup, but “his real motives are now clear: to deceive and trap me,” Roche said.

Roche vehemently denied “any allegation of impropriety,” and claimed that the class action lawsuits were never filed on behalf of Ava Labs.

“What the post fails to note is that the firm’s practices on the plaintiff side have been a source of contention in our relationship with Ava Labs, and they have criticized our pursuit of many such cases.”

Christen Ager-Hanssen has now tweeted that “Avalabs is definitely involved in the Kyle Roche/Avalabs litigation initiative”, attaching an email conversation from Sam Wang, Avalabs’ Director of Business Development.
