One of them is SkyCredit, a Perth-based Australian fintech that will focus on middle- to low-income consumers through affordable financing arrangements.

“The electric two-wheeler market in Indonesia is certainly a game changer in the transition towards the country’s transport decarbonisation. However, despite the growing demand, financing options remain limited for Indonesia’s unbanked or underbanked population,” said SkyCredit CEO Paul Walsh.
“With Katalis’ support, our value proposition will make electric two-wheelers more accessible, and in the long run contribute to a sustainable urban mobility system.”

Katalis is a business development business supported by the Indonesian and Australian governments under the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) Economic Cooperation Program (ECP). Both Katalis and SkyCredit will analyze the two-wheeler EV sector in Indonesia, while also conducting a study on investment potential and opportunities in infrastructure and technology.

“Innovative financing solutions are essential for sustainable mobility. We are proud to partner with SkyCredit to strengthen EV adoption in Indonesia according to [the Indonesian] the government’s mission to open wider access to electric cars and achieve the goal of reducing carbon emissions, says Katalis director Paul Bartlett.

A pioneer in Australian-based Fintechs, SkyCredit Group is an expert in credit risk analysis, data analytics and technology with support from affiliates such as Fintech Services Australia, Fair Go Finance and Once Card Credit.

Since 2019, SkyCredit Group has managed to facilitate online and scaled financial product transactions. The group is part of the transformational breakthroughs in Australian financial services.

With extensive experience in providing digital financial services and online credit for the subprime market in Australia, the SkyCredit Group is the most suitable partner for Indonesia’s fast-growing markets, including electric vehicles.

Meanwhile, the IA-CEPA ECP Katalis (Katalis) is a unique five-year (2020-2025) trade and investment development program supported by the Indonesian and Australian governments to open wider partnership opportunities between both countries. The program is a supplement to existing bilateral, commercially oriented development programs under the Australian Government. Katalis also includes gender, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) in its core programmes.
