Algorand Foundation appoints Anil Kakani as India Country Head

SINGAPORE, 28 November 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Algorand Foundationwhose task is to strengthen the ecosystem to Algorandthe carbon-negative Layer 1 blockchain invented by the Turing Award winner and MIT professor Silvio Micali, has appointed Anil Kakani as India Country Head. In this new role, Kakani will lead AlgoBharat and everything India-based programming and projects for Algorand, including university-level educational programs, community programs, and private and public partnerships.

Kakani is already known to many in traditional finance, and India the technology sector. He held several roles in the public and private sector Washington DCincluding as a senior advisor for India at the US Treasury, where he established the first bilateral partnership between the US Treasury and India’s Ministry of Finance. He was director of commercial development for India at Corning Incorporated, and has held leading positions in Anand Rathi Investment Banking i India and Vikasa Holdings i the United States.
