After embracing cryptocurrencies, Tag Heuer is now focusing on NFTs

The Swiss luxury watchmaker – Tag Heuer – said it will help its customers “stay in harmony” with the rapidly changing world. As such, the company introduced a smartwatch feature that allows customers to display their non-fungible token collections (NFT).

Dive into the NFT universe

Last month, Tag Heuer teamed up with Bitpay to enable users to pay for luxury products in Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH) and other cryptocurrencies. At the moment, the offer is only available when customers buy on the company’s American website.

In a recent announcement, the company revealed that it will take “another bold step into the Web3 world” by launching an NFT view. Clients can use the feature to view their non-fungible token collections, which will be secured with verified proof of ownership.

“TAG Heuer presents a new way to bring these valuable and highly collectible works of art into the real world. For the first time, they can be worn on the wrist with verified proof of ownership. The TAG Heuer Connected Caliber E4 lets you display NFT artwork on your watch by to connect to your crypto wallet to guarantee authenticity. “

The company explained that users could pair their smartphones with the feature and transfer multiple NFTs. The dial has three different ways to display time while displaying digital artwork. In addition, individuals can link the add-on to popular cryptocurrency wallets, including Metamask and Ledger Live.

Tag Heuer praised the initiative, which predicted that digital collectibles could become an important part of the cryptocurrency sector and unlock new utility cases in the future.

“There’s a brave new world out there,” the firm concluded.

Prada also joined the NFT club

Another well-known fashion and luxury brand that recently jumped on the non-fungible token bandwagon is Prada. A few weeks ago, the Italian company introduced an NFT collection built on the Ethereum blockchain, which shows a series of gender-neutral shirts launched in 2019.

Prada revealed that every owner of a physical shirt will be gifted with a digital collectible. The latter will include a unique number corresponding to each garment:
