By India Today Web Desk: Five new eMasters courses in finance, fintech and business analytics have been launched by IIT Kanpur. The programs were created with India’s rapid expansion as one of the world’s largest and fastest growing economies in mind.

India has a GDP ranking of fifth; however, the economic environment is changing drastically due to foreign direct investment. These five courses will equip workers to support India’s expansive growth, which is supported by rapid economic reforms.

The use of financial technology and data analytics has created millions of new job opportunities for experts in business analytics, big data, IoT and cutting-edge banking technologies.

GROWTH PROSPECTS IN THESE SECTORS

According to estimates, 12 million new jobs will be available in computer science alone by 2026.

More than 40,000 jobs are currently open in India’s financial sector for professionals with 10+ years of experience who have been trained in cutting-edge skills.

Fintech startups has correspondingly tripled since 2021 and is, according to reports, estimated to reach $215 billion by 2030.

India needs a highly skilled workforce in each of these fields to fill the upcoming talent gap and navigate the significant changes towards advancement.

To meet the need of the hour, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has launched five new eMasters programs in –

• Economics and finance in business
• Economics, finance and data analysis
• Economics, finance and public policy
• Data science and business analysis
• Financial technology and management

ABOUT THE FIVE NEW eMASTERS PROGRAMS

1. eMasters program in economics and finance in business: This will help professionals to better understand the practical aspects of finance, economic tools and pricing mechanisms. It will emphasize business economics.

2. eMasters Degree Program in economics, finance and data analysis: This will help professionals deepen their understanding of economics and finance with strong exposure to quantitative economics and data analysis.

3. Program for economics, finance and public policy: This will help professionals build relevant knowledge and capabilities that are integrated into dynamic policy planning and implementation process.

3. eMasters Program in Data Science and Business Analytics will offer professionals an in-depth knowledge of cutting-edge data science tools for business analysis.

4. Financial technology and management program: This will provide professionals with theoretical and practical skills, enabling them to navigate the financial revolution, make strategic decisions and drive their firm’s growth.
